Yoga Teacher Training
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: November 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to all Yoga Teacher Training courses offered by The Yoga Yurt Ltd with Lead Trainer Isis du Jour, including 200-hour yoga teacher training programmes and any other teacher training courses or programmes offered by the company.
They set out the arrangements and expectations relating to applications, enrolment, payments, attendance, participation and successful completion of a training course.
Individual course information, including the course description, dates, timetable, duration, fees, payment options and any specific requirements, will be provided separately in the relevant course information, prospectus, application materials or invoice.
By accepting an offer of a place and making payment towards a course, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Please read them carefully before confirming your place. If anything is unclear, please contact us before making payment.
1. Applying and securing your place
Places on our Yoga Teacher Training courses are offered following completion and review of an application.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. The Yoga Yurt Ltd will contact applicants to confirm whether they have been offered a place and explain the next steps.
Once a place has been offered, it can be secured by payment of the required deposit, as specified in the relevant course information or invoice.
Your place is confirmed once the required deposit has been received and your booking has been acknowledged by The Yoga Yurt Ltd.
Our training programmes are intended for people who wish to deepen their personal yoga practice and understanding, as well as those who wish to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills to teach yoga.
Applicants should be willing to take part in practical sessions, personal reflection, independent study, coursework and assessments as required by their chosen programme.
2. Course information
Each Yoga Teacher Training programme will have its own course information, which will be provided before enrolment.
This will include relevant details such as:
Course title and description.
Course duration and scheduled training dates.
Training location and delivery format.
Timetable and expected training hours.
Course content and curriculum.
Fees and available payment arrangements.
Attendance expectations.
Coursework and assessment requirements.
Any additional requirements specific to that programme.
The Yoga Yurt Ltd will make reasonable efforts to deliver each programme as advertised.
Occasionally, it may be necessary to make reasonable adjustments to the timetable, teaching arrangements, trainers or programme content. Students will be informed of any significant changes as soon as reasonably possible.
3. Course fees
The fees for each training programme will be clearly stated in the relevant course information and confirmed at the time an offer of a place is made.
Any early booking offers, discounts or special payment arrangements will be subject to the conditions and deadlines stated in the relevant course information.
The course fee covers the training and resources specifically described for that programme. Any additional costs, such as recommended books, travel, accommodation, meals or optional activities, will be made clear where applicable.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, students are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and personal expenses.
4. Deposits and payment arrangements
A deposit is normally required to secure a place on a training programme. The amount of the deposit and the available payment options will be confirmed in the relevant course information or invoice.
The deposit forms part of the total course fee and is not an additional charge.
Where instalment payments are offered, the number, amount and due dates of those payments will be confirmed individually.
Students are responsible for ensuring that payments are made by the agreed dates.
If a payment is missed or you anticipate difficulty meeting an agreed payment date, please contact The Yoga Yurt Ltd as soon as possible so that the situation can be discussed.
The Yoga Yurt Ltd reserves the right to take reasonable steps to recover overdue payments, subject to applicable law.
5. Deposits and cancellations
Deposits are intended to secure a student's place and reflect the initial administration, planning and commitment involved in reserving that place.
Our standard policy is that deposits are non-refundable if a student chooses to cancel their place, except where a refund is required by law or where the circumstances give rise to a legal right to cancel or receive a refund.
If you wish to cancel your place, you must notify The Yoga Yurt Ltd in writing as soon as possible.
Any refund or amount retained will be considered in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and applicable consumer law.
This policy does not affect any statutory consumer rights you may have, including any applicable cancellation rights for contracts made at a distance.
6. Withdrawal from a training programme
If you decide to withdraw from a training programme after your place has been confirmed, you must notify The Yoga Yurt Ltd in writing.
As training places involve advance planning, reserved teaching time, administration and other commitments, withdrawing from a programme does not automatically remove your responsibility for the agreed course fees.
You may remain responsible for outstanding course payments under your agreed payment arrangement, subject to applicable consumer law and your statutory rights.
Each withdrawal will be considered in light of the circumstances, the timing of the withdrawal, the services already provided and any costs or commitments that can reasonably be avoided.
Please contact The Yoga Yurt Ltd as soon as possible if you are considering withdrawing so that the situation can be discussed.
7. Changes or cancellation by The Yoga Yurt Ltd
The Yoga Yurt Ltd will make every reasonable effort to deliver each training programme as advertised.
Occasionally, circumstances outside our control may make it necessary to change a trainer, venue, date, timetable or element of the programme.
Where a change is necessary, students will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.
Any replacement trainer will be suitably qualified or experienced for the subject being delivered.
If The Yoga Yurt Ltd has to cancel a training programme altogether, students will be informed and offered an appropriate refund of payments made for the training that will not be delivered, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory rights.
8. Attendance and missed training
Regular attendance is an important part of our training programmes. Each course is designed as a progressive learning journey, with sessions building on the knowledge, experience and skills developed throughout the training.
Students are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions and participate fully in the programme.
If you are unable to attend a session, weekend or other scheduled element of the training, please notify The Yoga Yurt Ltd as soon as possible.
Missed training cannot automatically be carried over, refunded or replaced.
Any possible catch-up arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the nature of the missed material, the availability of suitable teaching and the requirements of the training and certification.
Additional work or evidence of learning may be required to demonstrate that the relevant learning outcomes have been met.
Any additional costs associated with agreed catch-up arrangements will be discussed with you in advance.
9. Independent study and coursework
Our training programmes may involve learning both during scheduled sessions and through independent study between them.
Students are expected to complete the required reading, reflection, practice, coursework and other learning activities set throughout their programme.
Independent study is an important part of developing a personal understanding of yoga and the knowledge and confidence to share the practice with others.
Students are responsible for managing their time and completing the required work by the agreed deadlines.
Guidance and support will be provided throughout the training.
Specific coursework and study requirements will be outlined as part of the individual programme.
10. Assessments and certification
Where a training programme includes assessments, students will be assessed in accordance with the requirements of that programme.
Assessment methods may include practical teaching, observation, participation, coursework, written work, examinations and other activities relevant to the course.
The specific assessment requirements will be explained during the application and enrolment process and throughout the training.
To successfully complete a programme and be eligible for the relevant certificate or qualification, students must meet the required attendance, participation, coursework, learning outcomes and assessment standards.
Completion of the scheduled training hours alone does not guarantee certification.
If a student does not meet the required standard in an assessment, further guidance, feedback or an opportunity to demonstrate the required learning may be offered where appropriate.
Any reassessment arrangements will be discussed individually.
The Yoga Yurt Ltd cannot guarantee that every student will pass the assessments or receive certification.
Where a programme is registered or accredited with an external organisation, certification and registration will also be subject to the relevant organisation's requirements. Completion of a course does not automatically guarantee membership of, or registration with, an external organisation.
11. Student conduct and group learning
Our training programmes take place in a shared learning environment. Students are expected to treat one another, the trainers and the wider Yoga Yurt community with kindness, respect and consideration.
We ask all students to:
Arrive on time and be prepared for sessions.
Listen respectfully and allow space for different perspectives.
Respect personal boundaries and confidentiality.
Participate with openness, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Communicate honestly and respectfully.
Contribute to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Personal experiences and reflections shared within the group should be treated with sensitivity and respect. Students must not share another person's personal information or experiences outside the training without their permission.
The Yoga Yurt Ltd reserves the right to address behaviour that is disruptive, discriminatory, disrespectful or otherwise compromises the safety and wellbeing of the group.
In serious circumstances, a student may be asked to leave the training. Any such decision will be considered carefully and in accordance with applicable law.
12. Health, wellbeing and personal responsibility
Yoga teacher training can be physically, mentally and emotionally demanding.
Students are encouraged to approach the process with self-awareness and to respect their own needs and limitations.
You are responsible for making appropriate decisions about your participation in physical practices and for communicating relevant information that may affect your ability to take part safely.
Please let the Lead Trainer know if you need an adjustment or support during a session.
You should seek appropriate medical advice if you are unsure whether a particular practice is suitable for you.
Our training programmes are educational and are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or psychological support.
Students are not expected to push beyond their limits. Resting, adapting or choosing not to participate in a particular practice is acceptable.
13. Course materials and intellectual property
Course manuals, handouts, teaching resources, presentations, sequences and other materials provided as part of a training programme are for your personal learning and study.
Unless permission has been given in writing, these materials must not be reproduced, distributed, published, sold or used for commercial purposes.
Students are welcome to use the knowledge and skills developed during their training in their own personal practice and future teaching, while respecting the intellectual property of The Yoga Yurt Ltd, the Lead Trainer and any guest teachers.
Traditional yoga teachings and practices may draw on sources and lineages that are not owned by the training provider. Any modern teaching materials, written content or resources remain subject to the rights of their respective creators.
14. Photography, filming and recording
Photography, filming or audio recording during training sessions is not permitted without prior permission from the Lead Trainer and the people who may be recorded.
Students must not photograph, film or record other students without their explicit consent.
If photographs or recordings are taken by The Yoga Yurt Ltd for promotional or educational purposes, permission will be sought where required.
You are under no obligation to agree to promotional photography or recording as a condition of taking part in a training programme.
15. Communication
Important course information, updates, invoices and payment reminders will normally be sent by email.
Students are responsible for providing a current email address and checking their inbox regularly, including junk or spam folders.
Please let The Yoga Yurt Ltd know if your contact details change during your training.
16. Consumer rights and statutory cancellation
These Terms & Conditions do not affect any rights you may have under UK consumer law.
Where an agreement is made online or otherwise at a distance, statutory cancellation rights may apply. The availability and duration of those rights will depend on the circumstances of the booking and the applicable law.
If you believe you are entitled to cancel under statutory consumer rights, please contact The Yoga Yurt Ltd in writing.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any legal rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
17. Data protection
Personal information supplied as part of your application, enrolment and participation will be used for purposes connected with administering and delivering your training programme.
This may include communicating with you, managing payments, maintaining training records, supporting your learning and recording assessment outcomes.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and The Yoga Yurt Ltd's Privacy Policy.
Please refer to the Privacy Policy on our website for further information about how your information is collected, used and protected.

You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.
You have read the relevant course information provided for your chosen programme.
You understand the course structure, attendance expectations and assessment requirements applicable to your programme.
You agree to the payment arrangements confirmed in your invoice.
You understand that successful completion and certification depend on meeting the relevant learning outcomes and assessment requirements.
